He received his education at William Jewell College (BA), Texas Christian University (MA), San Francisco Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), and Oklahoma State University (PhD in his- tory, 1973). Dr. Belk is a member of the History and Political Science Department at Sterling College, Sterling, Kan- sas. During his graduate studies he held a variety of teaching assistantships. He is presently the minister of the Zenith, Kansas, United Presbyterian Community Church. From 1966 through 1969 he served the First Presbyterian Church of Perry, Oklahoma. Dr. Belk and his wife, Nadine, are the parents of three children: Stephanie, Stephen, and Christopher.
