i Vestnik, in a charge given to young leaders of the AUCECB, they were told to study like great men such as Spurgeon, o/r Moody, Torrey, Kargel and Prokhanov. In 1954, preachers were told to use Kargel as an example in their preaching. Kargel, and I would like, that the God who was with them, would be with us’. During the 100-year anniversary of Baptists in Russia, held in 1974, Kargel’s name was listed as one of six influential people in the history of the movement.
