million in 1976. Figures for 1978 and 1979 were not available at the time of
writing. Administration and fund-raising costs hovered around 830 to 35 percent. In
1977 UE increased its net worth by $792,958 to a total net worth of $3,795,909. It
therefore needs to find more programs to spend its growing surplus.
33. Voice of the Martyrs, 11/78. Income in 1975 was 4.1 million; in 1976 it was
5.2 million with 38 percent and 35 percent respectively spent on administration,
postage, freight, and publicity.

7. A number of missions, as in this case, purchase East European currency on
the black market and smuggle restricted currency. This was strongly criticized by
Paul Hanson of the Lutheran World Federation (EPS, May 18, 1978)

on religious broadcasting. My analysis is based on papers from such conferences.

make restitution and the charges were dropped.

gelism, USA.

1979) shows that all six men also signed this statement, which appears to conflict
with the August 22, 1979 disclaimer by Hans Martin Braun, General Secretary of
the International Committee of the Wurmbrand Mission.
