External Examiners The most common examination system in the United Kingdom, by which the University of Wales operated, involves an Examination Board of three individuals: a Chair, an Internal Examiner 41 and an External Examiner, who is a specialist in the research area. Given the divergence of our research topics, both by discipline and country setting, the task of creating Examination Boards capable of fulfilling the rigorous requirements of the University and the United Kingdom Quality Assurance Agency was, in itself, a great challenge.
